Bringing a Taste of the Congo to Your Plate

It has been four years now since I dove deep into pushing my mother’s cooking into this community. Here we were getting ready to do her first debut at an OCP Night Out event. The role of an activity coordinator holds many layers, and among them are finding chefs who will be willing to come and showcase their craft. I Thank you #OurCommunityPlace for empowering me and opening doors where I too felt worthy to bring to light and share the cooking of the woman who has fed me since day one with her Congolese cuisine. This was such a lived experience! Praise #God for another splendid opportunity to lift up the gifts Black Women bring to our community.

To my Congolese people, we are the source of energy and energy is what the world is in need of today. #WeAreHere and will gift you the gift of light and a hope to be more then the status quo. To the #LubaPeople I call upon you to grab a pen and do us a favor, write and share your gift to the people of the world.

Rise and shine brighter then you did a day ago. You don’t know who might need your positivity today so think that way to allow goodness to come your way. I thank #God for this opportunity to be able to thank him truly. I pray for those who lost someone, or those in the hospital bed. May this light find you and comfort you during these umpresedent times. I pray for my enemies, May you keep on keeping on so that #BabyJesus find something to do. I pray for my friends and family, May you find a way to ground and build a United front so that our work be brighter then our division. I pray for my community, I Love you Harrisonburg VA.
